With traffic flow a major concern in the capital, the new traffic signals make it easier for pedestrians to judge how much time they have to cross the road, so they can cross safely.
The digital timers are the first of their kind to be used in the UK. The network expansion project will see the size of the DLR’s Local Area Network (LAN) double to encompass 46 stations and 26 power substations, and the entire network will be faster, more resilient and scaleable. telent will undertake the detailed network design and carry out full network configuration, testing and verification.

The directorate, which carries out all routine maintenance across the Bakerloo, Central, Victoria, Waterloo & City, Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Metropolitan lines, has let the contracts after a full-scale review of procurement from third-party suppliers.
Previous procurement of goods and services had meant that 56 suppliers were engaged by the Maintenance directorate, with 99 individual contracts.

To reach this total, telent staff were significantly involved in numerous fund raisings activities including; sports challenges such as the London Marathon and the charity’s national Big Bike Ride, collections at offices and London Underground stations, raffles, auctions and through the company’s salary donation scheme.
telent’s customers, suppliers and partners have also helped through supporting the company’s fifth annual charity golf day, which alone raised over £54,000, operating a mobile phone recycling scheme and general donations.
