Case Study - Integrated Communications Control System
The Metropolitan Police Service and FREQUENTIS GmbH have delivered
the first phase of the Met’s new Integrated Communications Control System
into live operational service with telent providing maintenance support
for the system.
The ICCS is the MPS’s new integrated communications control platform, on
which the organisation will operate the new Airwave digital radio network,
fully integrated with its legacy radio despatch systems, MetRadio and
VHF,
telephony, and CCTV monitoring operations.
With the delivery of Phase One, eight MPS boroughs are now communicating
using the national Airwave digital radio system. By the end of 2007
the remaining 24 boroughs and all London and specialist units will move
over to Airwave as part of a phased roll-out programme.
