Case Study – Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service has recently installed a new Command
and Control Centre call handling system based on Voice over IP technology. To support this facility, a backup capability was created
with the addition of a Mitel ICP3300 CXi mini-VoIP system as a resiliency
platform for control room voice service. The CXi VoIP switch handles
incoming 999 calls to operators when the main control centre has been evacuated
and it maintains central communications with key Fire Service staff during
emergency incidents. The network was designed, integrated and implemented
in a period of 4 weeks by the telent ICT support services team at Merseyside
who will provide all maintenance and ongoing support for the system.
The Mitel ICP3300 VoIP platform can support any mix of existing analogue
extensions as well as a complete range of VoIP handsets and integrated productivity
tools which combine voice and business applications onto a single network. telent have integrated the Mitel ICP3300 with a number of different data
network equipments.
